Arthur “Mac” Millholland, a Korean War veteran from Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, served with the U.S. Army’s 7th Infantry Division and became a correspondent for the Pacific Stars and Stripes in 1951. Armed with an M-1 rifle, a portable typewriter, and a reporter’s eye for the human side of war, Millholland documented the experiences of soldiers serving near the front lines in Korea. His memoir offers a vivid look at military journalism, wartime reporting, and the enduring role of Stars and Stripes in connecting service members through news, stories, and shared experience.
