Occupy Bloomfield Recap: A Step Back in Time

We had an incredible experience during Occupy Bloomfield, held from July 24-27, 2025! This event allowed attendees to step back in time to an 1860s Bloomfield, Missouri, as we brought the Civil War to life and celebrated the birth of the Stars and Stripes newspaper.

Visitors enjoyed an up-close learning experience, witnessing history come alive as they learned what it was like to live, fight, and survive during the Civil War. Participants engaged in a variety of activities throughout the grounds of the Stars and Stripes Museum and Library, immersing themselves in this pivotal era.

Kids Day Highlights!
On Saturday, July 26th, we hosted our Museum Kids Day, which was a fantastic opportunity for families to join in the fun! Children participated in kid-friendly activities designed to create unforgettable experiences, while food trucks provided delicious options throughout the day.

Thank You to Our Reenactors!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the reenactors who joined us for this memorable Civil War Weekend. Artillery, Engineers, Infantry, Cavalry, and Civilians brought authenticity to the event, and we appreciate your participation. The museum provided rations for those camping on-site, and we hope everyone enjoyed the food vendors available for lunch on Saturday.

If you missed this event, we’ve attached pictures below to capture the excitement and learning that took place. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make Occupy Bloomfield a success! We look forward to seeing you at our future events!
