SATURDAY, JANUARY 27, 2024 AT 10 AM – 2 PM
On Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10am to 2pm, The Stars and Stripes National Museum and Library will be hosting our January Kids Day at the Museum: Civil War Action at Bloomfield. Join us as we delve into the Civil War action that took place right here in Southeast Missouri between 1861 and 1865.
Reenactors, dedicated to preserving the past, will have various stations where visitors can interact with history firsthand. These living historians will talk about what happened during the Civil War in different areas of Southeast Missouri including Bloomfield, Sikeston, Charleston, and Jackson. These educational talks and demonstrations will offer a deeper understanding of the strategies, hardships, and personal stories that shaped the Civil War.
Through interactive learning, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of this significant historical event. Visitors of all ages are invited to attend. This event is open to the public and admission is free.
Our monthly Kids Day at the Museum program is sponsored by The Boys and Girls Club of the Heartland and the Dexter Kiwanis Club.
